Deep ruby with purple hues. The nose is complex, with intense aromas of blackcurrant, blackberries and black pepper. The liquorice hints of Grenache sublimates the fruit of Syrah. The palate is initially concentrated, ample and fruity, with intense black fruits, liquorice and cocoa. Perfect balance and great length makes La Fiole Réserve a high-end “cuvée.”
Critic tasting note: (2018 vintage) “Veins of smoky tea leaves and musk accent ripe but restrained blackberry and red currant flavors in this wine. A blend of Grenache and Syrah matured one year in seasoned oak casks, it’s a crisply concentrated red that lingers on soft tannins and hints of fur and leather. Anna Lee C.
