Wild Turkey 101 is the bourbon that built the distillery’s reputation. Made in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, it uses a higher-than-usual proportion of rye in the mash for extra spice, and is aged in barrels given the deepest char level — the No. 4, or “alligator”, char — for bold caramel and vanilla.
Bottled at 101 proof, or 50.5% ABV, it has the strength and depth to shine in an Old Fashioned or Manhattan while staying rich and rewarding neat. The distillery has been shaped for decades by the Russell family — Jimmy Russell, who joined in 1954, and his son Eddie.

Did You Know?
📖 As the story goes, the name dates to 1940, when distillery executive Thomas McCarthy took some 101-proof bourbon along on a wild turkey hunt. His friends enjoyed it so much that they kept asking for more of that wild turkey bourbon — and the name stuck.
🌟 Final Note: Big, spicy and full of character — the high-proof bourbon bartenders reach for first.
