The Dalmore 12 Years is the bottle that defines the Dalmore house style. The spirit spends its first nine years in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, picking up soft vanilla and honey. Then half of it moves into 30-year-old Matusalem oloroso sherry butts from González Byass, exclusive to The Dalmore, while the other half stays in bourbon wood. After three more years the two are reunited.
That split maturation gives a whisky with far more richness than its age suggests: deep mahogany in the glass, with the orange-and-chocolate character The Dalmore is known for. The distillery sits at Alness on the Cromarty Firth in the northern Highlands, and every bottle carries the royal stag, the emblem of the Mackenzie family who ran the distillery for nearly a century.

Did You Know?
📖 The Dalmore 12 was a pioneer of longer ageing. Andrew Mackenzie of the distillery’s founding family doubled the usual maturation period at a time when most single malts were bottled young, and the 12 year old still carries that idea today.
🌟 Final Note: Rich, chocolatey and full of orange, a Highland classic in a bigger bottle at a better price.
