The Balvenie Caribbean Cask is one of the best-loved whiskies in The Balvenie’s core range. It’s matured for 14 years in traditional oak whisky casks, then finished in American oak casks that previously held Caribbean rum. To make the finish, the distillery’s Malt Master filled the casks with his own blend of select West Indian rums, waited until the wood had soaked up their character, then swapped the rum for 14-year-old Balvenie.
The result keeps The Balvenie’s smooth, honeyed Speyside character and adds creamy toffee, vanilla and a ripe tropical fruitiness from the rum wood. It’s sweet and rounded without being sticky, an easy pour for seasoned whisky drinkers and newcomers alike.

📖 The Balvenie’s former Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE is credited with pioneering cask finishing. He created The Balvenie DoubleWood in the early 1990s, and the Caribbean Cask applies the same idea with rum wood instead of sherry.
🌟 Final Note: Speyside honey with a Caribbean accent, sunshine in a glass.
